I saw this last night:

I didn’t take this picture (I borrowed it from the internet) but I did see this phenomenon of a glowing ring around the moon.  D and P alerted me to it or I might  have missed it altogether.  (I’m usually so focused on the task at hand that I can miss the most glorious natural displays happening right above me.)  Apparently the ring is caused by moonlight being refracted through ice crystals in the upper atmosphere and it’s usual a herald of bad weather to come.  I can’t say that I’m fond of that last part but what a beautiful heavenly indicator!  So glad my boys make me look up once and a while!
